Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 06th September, 2015: Incessant rains have crippled the life of Falakata residents. Many areas of Falakata turned out to be in submerged condition. Areas like the Falakata Rural Hospital, Subhashpally, Thana Road, Deshbandhupara, Netaji Road etc. were under water. The entrance of the hospital had knee deep waters which created troubles for the patients to enter the Hospital. The Businessmen of Netaji Road of Falakata suffered enough losses during the Sunday market, especially before the festival season. The Secretary of Falakata Byabshayee Samiti Mr. Nanti Talukdar told TNI “We have approached many a time to the BDO Office and have submitted our complaints.
However, no a single step has been taken in this regard till date. Apart from this there were complaints from Panchayat Samiti to the Falakata panchayat Samiti. In this connection it can be recollected that few years ago the Thana Road was leveled with the help of stone chips. However, within couple of years the constructed layers were eroded and now its in dangerous condition. Local residents complain that due to the illegal filling of water bodies in the area is the main cause of such local water logging in the town.
