RATION DEALERS’ CLAIM TO WITHDRAW THEIR LICENSES AT RAIGANJ
By Partha Chatterjee (TNI Raiganj) ~ Edited By T. Deepika (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Raiganj, 31st August, 2015: Nineteen Ration dealers of Raiganj have applied for cancellation of their licenses today, for not being able to provide services due to the increase in a number of the consumers. It is to be noted that after the application of Food Security Act., the number of customers has increased to 4-5 thousands per dealer. In this situation, due to limited infrastructure, the dealers are reluctant to continue the services hence they have applied for the cancellation in the Sub Divisional Controller of Food and Supply office. In this regard, the Secretary of West Bengal MR Dealer Association Mr. Kamal Sarkar said that it is becoming impossible for the MR dealers to continue in the present situation. Further, the commission, which is allotted by the Government, is also insufficient to deploy 4-5 assistant to provide services to the consumers. On the other hand the Sub Divisional Controller of Food Supply of Raiganj, Mr. Saswata Sundar Das confirmed the receipt of the cancellation application. He also affirmed that the efforts of resolving the problem have started. The higher authorities may also be reported.
