By Pradip Kundu (TNI Tufanganj) ~ Edited By T. Deepika (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Tufanganj, 28th August, 2015: Tufanganj Sub-divisional Hospital one of the major service provider of healthcare services to the people of this subdivision has been shamed once again. Patients often are complaining that a section of the doctors here is redirecting the patients of the OPD to their private chambers. Patients further complained that the doctors are even telling them to go to their house (read Government quarters) where the doctors charge Rs. 350/- per visit from the patient. Some patient accomplices i.e. Moffajal Sheikh from Deochorai, Naresh Gabua informed the press that they did not find the concerned doctors in the chamber. Even some of the doctors do not visit the admitted patients to the hospital. When the press tried to contact the concerned doctors, they protested and behaved rudely with the press personnel. The press personnel then visited the SDO of Tufanganj Mr. Palden Sherpa and informed the entire incident. Mr. Sherpa said that necessary investigation will be initiated if at all such incident has taken place. The CMOH Dr. Sumit Ganguly said that misbehavior with the reporters is unacceptable.
