SILIGURI METRO POLICE’S SEMINAR TO BEEF UP SECURITY IN SILIGURI HOTELS

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 28th August, 2015: Siliguri Metropolitan Police is taking steps to curd down criminal activity in the Siliguri hotels. In a seminar organized by Siliguri Metropolitan Police that that was attended by the Hotel and Restaurant Owners of Siliguri. The seminar was presided by the Commissioner of Police Mr. Manoj Verma, ACP Tapan Alo Mitra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Mr. Shyam Singh and other Police officials. Various things were discussed including growth of criminal activity in the city as well as the influx of terrorist in the city. In most of such cases Siliguri hotels has become their safe haven. In the seminar certain directives were given to the Hotel owners which include mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in the hotels, Check in Photo for the guests and other security applications. Further the seminar also discussed the matters related to emergency evacuation training of the Hotel staff, ID card of the hotel staff etc.

The Advisory  Directives of The Seminar:

  • Installation of Strong CCTV cameras with night vision device in the hotels & restaurants including parking place, reception, corridors etc.
  • Mandatory Photo Recording of Guests in the Hotels along with the Photo ID card records.
  • Handing over the Guest data to the police in a time to time basis.
  • Emergency Training for the Hotel Staff.
  • Photo Id Card for all the Hotel staff.
  • Handing over the Staff records to the Police.
  • Mandatory requirement of Details verification of the Hotel staff before recruitment.
