Webdesk, TNI Tufanganj, 24th August, 2015: Two blocks of Tufanganj Subdivision was in a submerged state for 2 days. Still, the No.1 Raidak, Kaljani Rivers of the area is on the Yellow line danger mark. The SDO Tufanganj Mr. Palden Sherpa told TNI that for 4 days the blocks of Tufanganj faced incessant rains causing water logging condition. Right now the situation is improving and the people from Ward no 5 and 6 under the Municipal area were sent to their homes. Sources say that many people are still trapped in the areas like Deochorai and Balabhut of Tufanganj block 1. Experts believe that due to the release of water from Bhutan has caused the situation. Mr. Sherpa also mentioned that areas of Tufanganj block 2 like Rampur 1, Falimari, Maheshkuchi, and others are also facing water logging condition.
