FLOOD LIKE SITUATION IN BALURGHAT DUE TO HEAVY RAINS

Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 23rd August, 2015: Incessant rains in Balurghat has caused a flood like situation in Balurghat. At least four municipal wards are having the highest number of victims due to the latest bout of rains in the town. The affected are being transferred to the nearby safe locations. It is said that the local administration has to keep a close watch on the situation.
The Atreyee River passing by the side of Balurghat town is flowing very close to the danger level due to the heavy rains lashing the town from the last Sunday. The accumulated nondrained water in the town has entered the residential houses of low height. Sources say that the vice chairman of Balurghat Municipality Mr. Rajen Shil has carried out preliminary talks with the District Administration due to the sudden emergency situation raised.
