SOCIETY MANASHA PUJA: A NEW TREND SETTING UP GRADUALLY IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 18th August, 2015: Bengalis are known for celebrating each and every thread whatever comes across in a religious fervor.  Manasha Puja is still known as a one man puja organizing show till now. However, things are changing and changing fast. In Siliguri, a trend is being observed for the last 2 years and now the trend is becoming a mass celebration. Housing societies are now seen organizing the Snake goddesses Maa Manasha’s Puja with full enthusiasm.

Family members of all the families staying in the housing complexes were seen offering pujas by fasting throughout the day.

Fireworks, Lighting and other activities are fast becoming common in Manasha Puja of Siliguri. Housing Society Manasha Puja this year was seen in Housing Complexes located in areas like Hakimpara, Milanpally, Suryanagar, Deshbandhupara etc.
