FIRE BROKE OUT AT JALPAIGURI DM OFFICE

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri, 04th August, 2015: Fire broke out at Jalpaiguri District Magistrate Office yesterday. Yesterday evening at around 05:30 PM the fire broke out in the conference room of DM office. The source of the fire was the AC machine of the conference room. 2 fire brigade engines managed to control the fire after an effort of 1 hour. One of the employees of DM office, Samir Biswas said that when he was passing through the corridor of the conference room he got some burning smell. When he opened the door, he found that AC machine was on fire and the whole conference room was filled with smoke. Instantly he disconnected the power source and informed executives regarding the incident. At first Additional DM Mr. Shering, Dr. Biswanath and other employees tried to extinguish the fire with the fire extinguisher available at the DM office. According to the fire brigade, he reason behind the fire was a short circuit in AC. However, because of early noticing and prompt action from the fire brigade, DM office avoided a huge mishap.
