SILIGURI UNDER SUSPECTED TERROR THREAT: INTELLIGENCE REPORT

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 3rd August, 2015: Siliguri has come under heavy surveillance by the security personnel. Indian Intelligence has issued official alerts to some of the cities of India after the Punjab terrorist attack. According to reports, a total of 10 terrorists has entered India, 3 of them was killed in the Gurdaspur terrorist attack. However, remaining 7 went away missing in the rest of India. According to the Intelligence report, Siliguri is also under the terror threat after Kolkata in West Bengal. For that reason, security was beefed up by a special team under Siliguri Metropolitan Commissionerate. Regular vigilance has been stepped up in heavy crowded areas like Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand, Bagdogra Airport, NJP Railway Station and other areas. Shopping Malls, Multiplexes has been asked to regularly check up their surveillance system and also to keep in touch with the Police Commissionerate. Sniffer Dogs were inducted to check in suspected items in crowded areas.
