TUSKER KILLS MAN AT DHUPGURI

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 29th July, 2015: According to an official source a man was trampled to death yesterday at Khuttimari forest by a tusker. According to the locals, the tusker was mad elephant separated from the herd got the victim alone yesterday in the area. The man was riding his cycle and was crossing the forest. Talking to the reporters, the Divisional Forest Officer Officer Sunita Ghatak reiterated that the tusker is a strayed elephant from a herd of 45 and was moving around the near-by Haldibari tea garden. When the forest officials heard of the incident the forest guards recovered the body. The family members of the victim were demanding compensation from the forest department.
