GP OFFICE RANSACKED FOR NON RECEIPT OF DIGITAL RATION CARD

Webdesk, TNI Dinhata, 23rd July, 2015: The anger due to nonreceipt of digital Ration Card by the villagers leading to a ransack of Gram Panchayat office at Athiabari 2 Gram Panchayat of Dinhata 1 block today by them. The villagers alleged that only a handful of villagers received the digital ration card and the rest is yet to receive the same. Apart from this villagers, haven’t received payments for the already completed 100 days work by the Gram Panchayat. According to them, they have put up complaints in the gram panchayat many times which fell on deaf ears. Today when the villagers came to visit panchayat pradhan, he stayed away from the office. This enraged the protesters resulting in the office ransack. Later police came and took control of the situation.
