LEOPARD CARCASS SEIZED BY BELAKOBA FOREST RANGE AT NH 31

Webdesk, TNI Jalpaiguri, 21st July, 2015: Baikuntha Forest Department’s Belakoba Range yesterday caught six people red handed for trafficking leopard carcasses near the NH 31 in the area called Dasdargha. From the men a leopard carcass of 11 ft long was recovered and seized. The accused caught are Umacharan (31), Kanaj (39), Atayan (27), Zahidul (34), Uday (34) and Alishik (26). Among the caught 4 were from Coochbehar district and 2 were from Assam. According to the Belakoba Range office the carcass were being trafficked from Assam to Nepal.
