MALDA KUMARTULI GEARS UP FOR THIS YEAR’S DURGA PUJA

Webdesk, TNI Malda, 20th July, 2015: The Malda Kumartuli have started their Durga Puja activities from the Rath Yatra day i.e. yesterday. From the morning of Rath Yatra the clay artists started their work officially after offering ‘Kathamo Puja’ in their respective studios. Unlike other cities of North Bengal Malda is way ahead of maintaining the age old religious traditions of making the Durga Idol. The day is not only associated with making of Durga idol but also it marks the starting day of Durga idol booking at Malda Kumartuli. Club officials and puja organizing committee’s were seen negotiating with the idol makers for booking their deal for this year.
