FACTIONAL VIOLENCE ERUPTS AT SALBARI, SITUATION UNDER CONTROL

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 20th July, 2015: Factional fight erupted at Salbari area near Siliguri. The incident happened when a biker and a van collided with each other yesterday. Both the bikers were injured triggering the factional fight among 2 factions of the area. Pradhan Nagar Police reached the spot immediately and the situation was brought under control. The shops of the area remained closed following the factional fight. The police later called a peace meeting in the area. However, today also there were reports of some stray incidents. The Siliguri Metropolitan Police ACP Mr. Tapan Alo Mitra told the press that police is looking after the situation closely. Police pickets have been installed in the area as a measure of stopping the stray incidents.
