RAIN FREE SILIGURI RATHYATRA WENT AWAY PEACEFULLY

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 19th July, 2015: Siliguri celebrated Rath Yatra with much fanfare. This time the ISHKON Rath Yatra is being termed as Uttar Banga Rath Yatra. It traversed the entire city with its Rath Tabloid. Not only ISHkon but there were other rath celebrations throughout the city. The oldest was the Rathkhola Maidan Rath Yatra. Apart from this there were other remarkable rath yatras in Siliguri i.e. Gourio Math Rath Yatra – Shaktigarh, Bidhan Market Rath Yatra, Deshbandhupara Rath Yatra, Ashrampara Rath yatra, Ghogomali Rath Yatra, Pradhan Nagar rath yatra etc. were among a few.

Moreover, a new trend is being observed i.e. community raths in various localities were also seen. Those were organized by some local association or residential societies. TNI could spot such one at Deshbandhupara this year. The Police arrangement this time was good enough to stop the unmanageable crowd situation, especially during the evening when the crowd rush is huge. The absence of rain throughout the day was also one of the important factors this year to say Siliguri’s Rath passed away peacefully and manageable.
