BUS, MINIBUS AND TREKKER STRIKE AT BALURGHAT

Webdesk, TNI Balurghat, 17th July, 2015: From yesterday, a strike for undefined time period has been called specifically in Balurghat-Hili and Balurghat-Kumarganj route. Buses, Minibuses, and Trekkers are not plying on those two routes. As usual, common people are the victim of the situation. The strike has been called by Balurghat Motor Owners Association. Recently without any discussion with Balurghat Motor Owners Association, Dakshin Dinajpur district administration has issued a permit for new buses in Balurghat-Hili route. Naturally, as a result, the decision of issuing permit for new buses has not been welcomed by existing owners as they felt it will affect their current earning.Though common people are in distress, Balurghat Motor Owners Association has claimed that until Government is not taking any initiative on this matter, the strike will continue.
