PAYEL SARKAR, POOR ANIMAL’S FLORENCE NIGHTANGLE FROM SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 12th July, 2015: It is a story about a young woman who at last finds out the path to fulfill her dreams. Sorry, not a story but a fact. Payel Sarkar, an inhabitant of Diesel Colony, Siliguri, a high-school clerk and also a newly married woman, after performing her duties to both her family and school, is now giving her precious time to the society by treating the street dogs. Wherever she finds out those injured mammals, she at once takes them to the nearby treatment center and tries to give them proper nourishment. From the year 2008, she has engaged herself in this social activity.

In an exclusive interview to TNI she said, “From my childhood days, I used to feel kind to them when I see the pathetic conditions of those poor animals. From that time, I have decided to help them. My husband, parents, and in-laws support me a lot. So, I can manage myself. In the near future, I want to help the lunatic women wandering in the streets. I think they need someone who can realize their painful sufferings.” Thus without the help of any organization, Payel Sarkar has proved herself as a self-made a social worker. She has proved once again that ‘if there is a will there is way’. The society badly needs this type of people who at least thinks about those unfortunates. Maybe it is a human being or a poor dog, after all, it’s a living being the child of the same father- the omniscient God. Will the society lend her the helping hand to continue her good deeds in the future!! Time will say.
