COMPLICATED SURGERY SAVED CHILD FROM NEAR DEATH IN A SILIGURI PVT. HOSPITAL

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 10th July, 2015: Miracles may happen in the daily life have been proved again. The parents of a 66-year-old have never thought that they can get back their child in their lap again. The 6 year old child was admitted at Neotia Getwel Healthcare Centre who fell down from 2nd floor and got his head pinned by protruding nails of a wall, there were 4 nails half of length was outside and remaining part inside, one nail was just lateral to his right eye and three were 4-5 cm inside brain, these nails inside brain was hitting the middle cerebral artery and motor cortex.
According to the experts, such damage in the brain could lead to stroke and paralysis. Dr. Rahul Prasad, the consultant doctor of the hospital was successfully able to remove all the 4 nails, with minimal damage to the brain after 4 hours of complicated surgery. The child made an uneventful recovery and is doing well; he has been shifted to pediatric ward, He would be able to go home in the next 2-3 days and would be able to live normal as before.
