HONEY BEES DYING DUE TO RISE OF THE TEMPERATURE AT MALDA

Webdesk, TNI Malda, 8th June, 2015: Swarms of Honey bees are dying in Malda have created panic among the Apiculturists. Especially the most affected is the Sahapur area of Malda district. Almost 80% of families are dependent on Apiculture. The experts believe that the mass death of honeybees is due to the sudden rise of the temperature to a whopping 40°C. Last year too, the apiculture of the district was affected was due to the unprecedented cold weather prevailed in the area. This year the there was a chance of loss make up however, the weather had other plans. According to the Honey farmers they are in stiff anxiety because of the loan, which they have taken for the culture. Now due to the unexpected loss, they are in a state of shock. Though the local MLA has assured of any possible relief to those farmers however, the anxiety still prevails among the apiculturists of the Sahapur of Malda.
