LONG POWER-CUTS CREATING PROBLEMS IN SOUTH SHIVMANDIR, SILIGURI
By R. Subrata (TNI Siliguri) ~ Edited By D. Prasun (TNI Siliguri)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 4th July, 2015: For the last couple of weeks a major portion of Shivmandir area under Siliguri Subdivision is experiencing longer power-cuts. This is happening for a long duration of 6-7 hours or more. The incident is occurring especially during evening hours of the day or in the day time too. According to one of the sufferers (On the request of anonymity) “This phenomenon is becoming a regular affair in the areas of South Shivmandir, which is located around Sainath Temple and B.Ed College. We have approached several times to the electricity office located in Shivmandir, but the problem still persists.” He also further said “Very often the phone goes on ringing but nobody picks up the phone. The power-cut starts just after evening and goes on for the next 6-7 hours or even the whole night”. TNI also tried to contact the electricity office located at Sainath More of Shivmandir but it remained silent. Interestingly, in North Shivmandir, such long power-cuts are not to be seen.
