NOTICE ISSUED TO STOP TOTO SELLING IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 28th June, 2015: Within the next one month in are areas covered by Siliguri Municipal Corporation and Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad permits will be issued for TOTO (Tuk Tuk) vehicles by the State Transport Department. The Toto vehicle owners can apply for the permits from the first week of July 2015. This has been declared by the Mr. Madan Bhattacharya, Member of District Transport Board at a press conference at the Siliguri Journalist Club. It is to be noted that the there are over 800 toto vehicles plying in Siliguri city without permits. Mr. Bhattacharya also said that permits will only be issued for the pocket routes of the city, which will be around 270 till now. The Ward Councilors will be handed over with an additional responsibility of finding out areas of toto parking stand so that the regular jams can be avoided. However, one of the important facts lies on the decision of issuing notice to the toto sellers to stop selling toto vehicles blatantly. Mr. Bhattacharya also clarified that from now on toto cannot be sold without proper license and also toto vehicles cannot be sold to the customers, who don’t have the driving permit issued by the District Transport Department.
