SHAHID DIBAS CELEBRATED AT TINBIGHA

Webdesk, TNI Coochbehar, 27th June, 2015: Yesterday, on 26th June, 2015, ‘Bharat-Bangladesh Chitmahal Binimoy Committee’ (Indo-Bangladesh Enclaves Exchange Committee) organized and celebrated ‘Sahid Dibas’ (Martyrs’ Day) in the memory of the martyrs of ‘Tinbigha’ protest. Around five-six thousand people of both the countries were present to pay homage. Representing India, renowned reporter Debabrata Sarkar garlanded the ‘Shahid Bedi’ followed by Diptiman Sengupta, the joint secretary of ‘Bharat-Bangladesh Chitmahal Binimoy Committee’. From Bangladesh part of the committee, Sultana Kamal, the legal advisor to Bangladesh Government were also present. Member of Bangladesh branch, Altab Hossain reminded the contribution of MLA Late Dipak Sengupta. This year the occasion was more important as the long protest is going to be successful very soon on 31st July midnight, from when the residents of ‘Chitmahal’s are going to live a free life with dignity.
