TNI News Service (TNS)
Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 21st June, 2015: An unidentified Siliguri Policeman flouting traffic rules was snapped by a pillion rider of a biker went viral in social networking sites. It was first posted by an unidentified profile in facebook social networking site, which went viral among the Siliguri facebook users along with comments and shares. The photograph was first posted on 19th June 2015 which went viral since then. It has been shared several times and has been liked in facebook. Later it was been found in other social networking sites too and also whatsapped indiscriminately. The bike registration number was clearly visible in the original photograph. In the picture it is clearly seen that the policeman in khaki with police shoulder cord is talking in his mobile phone while riding the bike and is also without a proper helmet. It is still unknown when the picture was being photographed and whether the policeman was being penalised or not. However as far as the surroundings are concerned it clearly indicates that it might be snapped in front of NBSTC bus depot of Hill Cart road at Pradhan Nagar area. The originality verification and tamper scan has not been done in the photo. However, if true, this clearly shows the sorry state of the traffic negligence in the city. It has almost become a nightmare for the traffic to get to the destination in time especially during office hours. The most disturbed areas of traffic in Siliguri are Darjeeling More, Siliguri Junction crossing, Vivekananda Square (Sevoke More), Panitanki More, Mahabirstan crossing, Hashmi Chowk (Venus More), Hospital More, Court More (Kutchery Road) to name a few. In December 2014 Mumbai police had posted special teams at major junctions of Mumbai to keep an eye out for such policemen, who were found flouting traffic rules. This drive of Mumbai Police continued for quiet sometime.
