LOK ADALAT REALISED RS. 4,01,581 AT KALIMPONG

Webdesk, TNI Kalimpong, 16th June, 2015: This Lok Adalat realized 4,01,581 rupees out of the settled amount of 7,51,487 rupees in the presence of Utpal Mishra, Additional District Judge, D.N Panday Senior Advocate, Kalimpong Bar Association and Roma Moktan, Teacher-in-charge of Pranimi Balika Vidhya Mandir on last Saturday. Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee organizes Lok-Adalat every once in a while in Kalimpong Court Building, (Session Court) the last Adalat was held on 11th April which settled 5 old cases. The committee was able to settle 38,000 out of 123,000 then. This time the Adalat held over the day settled 17 cases out of 80 in which 20 litigants turned up. Out of 25 cases referred by the Central Bank of India, 3 were settled in 1,42,00 rupees and 42,000 rupees was realized. Similarly, 4 cases out of 24 of Union Bank of India was settled in 1,05,500 rupees and 51,000 was realized, and all 10 cases of West Bengal State Co-Op, Agricultural and Development bank Ltd was settled in 5,03,987 where 3,08,581 was realized. However, the pre-litigation case referred by Janta Urban Co-Operative Credit Society couldn’t be settled although they had 20 odd cases, it was known that only one litigant turned up from this bank. (Kalimpong branch). The Kalimpong branch banks could settle the total of 7,51,487 and collect 4,01,581.
