MAAC, SILIGURI AND SILIGURI TRAFFIC POLICE LAUNCH HIGH-END ANIMATION FILMS ON ROAD SAFETY

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 26th May, 2015: The Siliguri Traffic Police has undertaken the medium of animation in order to raise awareness on Road Safety. The Traffic Management Centre in association with Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) has launched 66 films on the importance of Road Safely that had been produced in a matter of 100 hours.

The initiative was inaugurated by Shyam Singh IPS (DCP) Traffic, Siliguri at Hotel Rajdarbar, Hill Cart Road. The inaugural ceremony was marked by the felicitation of the East Zone winners of MAAC Siliguri team and the runners up of 100 hours. The films were created by the students of MAAC itself.  Shajan Samuel, Senior VP of MAAC India said, “This initiative was an interesting challenge for all of us in MAAC. The student had to create a large number of movies using a medium like animation that is time and labour intensive on a subject like road safety that must be given its due diligence. We hope that this initiative makes road safety a matter of top priority for all of us”. Biki Prasad, Director of MAAC Siliguri also expressed satisfaction on the second prize winning performance at the 100 hours competition and also to be associated with the Siliguri Traffic Police for such a noble cause.
