BADMINTON IS ‘ON’ IN SILIGURI

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 12th January, 2015: Finally, Badminton competition has started in several wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). Generally, SMC takes the initiative of this kind of tournament. However, because of the turmoil in the SMC had raised a question of the fate of this tournament. In this context, few sports organization came forward and ultimately the competition has started for two age-groups, 5 years to 10 years and 11 years to 18 years. In total, around 500 junior players have expressed their interest to participate. This type of tournament plays a crucial role in the making of a future star player. It is also very important to boost enthusiasm and to spread awareness regarding sports. This is, along with state-level badminton tournament, is a great opportunity for the junior players of this entire region.
