WOMAN NABBED AT BAGDOGRA FOR TRAFFICKING COCCAINE

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 28th June 2014: Tension mounted at Bagdogra Airport on Friday afternoon when a woman was reported to be detained with 5 kgs banned cocaine by the security personnel. The woman was supposed to board a flight towards Bangkok. $ 1000 was also seized by the customs officials from the woman along with some Thai Baht. She is a resident of Sukhiapokhri of Darjeeling. Advocate Ratan Kumar Banik informed the press that some other men might have handed over the cocaine to her outside the airport for trafficking. He also said that the substances presumed to be cocaine may have a worth of Rs. 4 crore. The woman was produced before the Assistant Chief Judicial Magistrate Smt. Keya Mandal who ruled out her bail plea. Siliguri police superintendent Mr. Jag Mohan said a probe is underway and the police are trying to find out the chief culprits.
