PRESIDENCY UNIVERSITY’S BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION STARTS FROM 6TH NOVEMBER

Webdesk, TNI Kolkata, 19th October, 2016: Presidency University is going to celebrate 200 years. On 6th of November 2016 the Presidency College (University) will start its Bicentennial Year Celebration from Princep Ghat of Kolkata. This has been declared by the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Anuradha Lohia in a press conference today. A logo of the celebration was also unveiled on the occasion. The program will be inaugurated by none other than the Honorable CM of West Bengal Smt. Mamta Banerjee. On the next year i.e. on 5th to 19th January 2017, there would be an educational summit at the campus. The University officials are now expecting at least there would be at least 6 Nobel laureates, who would be joining the summit. The Honorable President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee will be coming to the Bicentennial Anniversary day of the University. The state government has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 10 crores to the University. Before that, the Government has also sanctioned Rs. 50 crore to modernize and revamp the old building. The closing function of the 200th celebration of the University will be held on 27th December 2017.
