DOWN SYNDROME – A MUSICAL FEVER

Down Syndrome, the musical rock band which made its debut six years ago has successfully garnered a large fan following among youths of the city. It was in 2008 when the fortunes of two people ‘Rohan and Samrat’ clinched together in a fair where the melodious humming by Samrat could not remain unheard, with Rohan offering to work with him on a musical project. The beads of this musical band who cast their magical spell with their musical performances  and leave the audience spellbound include: Samrat Sarkhel the vocalist, Rohan Nag (lead Guitarist/ Backing Vocals, Saurav Das on Guitars), Mrinmay Pyne (Keyboard), Dipen Rai (Bass Guitar), Rana Prasun Ghosh (Drums). Down Syndrome is a progressive rock band. The originals of this band sheds an everlasting melody which makes the band exceptional from the others. The originals of the band and the other songs performed are bookmarked with good up-beat tempos and breakdown which make the audience enthralled with the unique Down Syndrome style music. The USP of the brand is captivated by the mask bassist. Overall the showmanship, vigour and zeal adds flavour to their performances which make the crowd throng to watch their live performances and dance to the beats of their music. “Every phase in life brings in a new experience, even our nature has it’s own way of playing the strings”, however special mention can be attributed to really good musicians who have cast their influence in the life of every musician – Dream Theatre, Deep Purple, Megadeth, The Giants, Van Halen. They have taught us in many aspects of music,” says Rohan Nag, the Lead guitarist. Down syndrome has also competed on a national platter fighting hard against 5000 bands from all across the country, declared runners- up in Kurkure Desi Beats aired in MTV ROCK ON, 2010. Audiences favourite compositions of  Down syndrome include: Harano sur, Grihno Somaj (Mephetic Society), AVISAP, AISAPTO- VRUN. Down syndrome will soon release a much awaited music video for thier rendition of LALON fakir’s OCHIN PAKHI. They are also planning to release a full length album by 2015.
