REVIEW: ‘PANCHAJANYA’ WAS A NICE PLAY FROM NANDIKAR

‘Panchajanya’ the first day, the first show was just awesome. Everyone was eagerly waiting for the day i.e. 16th June. It doesn’t disappoint anyone. The Gyan Manch yesterday was full packed by the audience. Nandikar presented their new musical play ‘Panchajanya’ with a team of young actors. Noted playwright Sohini Sengupta directed the play which was scripted by Partha Pratim Deb. The main theme of the play is the conflict between a politician and a lover. The story describes the life of Lord Krishna, the eternal lover as well as the ideal politician. The beginning of his life was his fight against monarchy for establishing democracy, but later he became the main character for the Great Battle Kurukshetra. After Kurukshetra, the conflict started in his mind when Gandhari accused him of being responsible for his. Sohini as Radha, Saptarshi as young Krishna, Parthapratim as old age Krishna was superb. The grief of childless mother acted by Swatilekha Sengupta was unbelievable. Rudraprasad Sengupta as Jarasandha was also unimaginable. The stage decoration, dress designing was good. Background song was very good but on stage the song sung by actors were needed sounded more melodious. Overall, it was a nice visualization of the play.
