World Environment Day Observed by CII-Yi, Basundhara & Lohori Jointly at Siliguri

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri 5^th June, 2018: On the occasion of “World Environment Day” today Lohori (A Siliguri Based Literary organization), Basundhara and CII Young Indians organized a Sit and Write Competition followed by a Sapling Distribution Program at Basundhara Campus of Dagapur near Siliguri. The entire day program comprised of Recitation, Drama (By Siliguri Ensemble) and other items.

The whole idea was to enlighten the spirit of environmental awareness among the participating children. The main dignitaries present were the noted environmentalist Mr. Sujit Raha, Smt. Nandini Raha, Chief Editor of Lohori Smt. Riya Das, noted dramatist Mr. Kanchan Ghosh, Members of CII –Young Indian Mr. Vivek Goel and Suraj Goyal and others. All of the dignitaries present expressed satisfaction at the outcome of the program. At the end of the event, the prize distribution took place. The winner was Sreyoshi Das in the children category and Anupam Bagchi from the teenage category. Later the saplings were distributed to the participating children by Mr. Sujit Raha, Mr. Suraj Goyal, Mr. Kanchen Ghosh and others.
